Calculator Notepad for Chrome
More About Calculator Notepad
1. Click the extension icon in the top-right corner of your browser.
2. Take some notes or perform calculations. The results or your expressions will appear in the column on the right.
Calculator Notepad will analyse each line of text that you type and try to evaluate any expressions it finds. Each new line represents a new expression, variable or comment. Click a result in the right column to copy it to your clipboard or shift + click to insert the value back into your expressions.
Variables help to give context to your calculations by letting you assign a value to a word or phrase. Declare a variable by name followed by “=“ or “is” and the value you want to assign eg:
expenses = 2k
budget is 5000
Once you create your variable, you can reference it at any point after it's declaration eg:
expenses = 2k
subtotal = expenses - 500
Note: Variable names must not contain spaces but can contain underscore(_) characters.
Add comments with your calculations by starting the line with "//" or ending it with ":" eg:
// Total amount
You can set the preferences for how your calculations are displayed by right-clicking the extension icon.
- Choose from system, light or dark themes.
- Choose from monospace or sans serif fonts.
