Detab is a free Productivity Extension for Chrome. You could download the latest version crx file or old version crx files and install it.

This extension will automatically detach tabs upon creation.
You can optionally open new windows in popup mode (hiding all toolbars).
You can also toggle popup mode (i.e. show/hide all toolbars) with Ctrl+Shift+L.
Made with tilling window managers in mind: "we the enlightened" manage tabs on a window manager level. Chrome tabbing just gets in the way.
Nice side-effect: system-wide searchable tabs (with something like rofi)
