Save Text to File is a free Productivity Extension for Chrome. You could download the latest version crx file or old version crx files and install it.

Saves selected text to a file (defaulting to the user's Download directory), with the ability to specify a custom directory.
After highlighting some text, right-click and select "Save Text to File".
File names have the format "userPreference--.txt"
