More About ScihubS

ScihubS Screenshot Image
ScihubS chrome extension is designed to have a better experience with sci-hub.
A simple keyboard shortcut can be used to fetch the article currently opened in Chrome via sci-hub.io.
The most recent versions of the scihubS extension also have alternative sources to search for articles (booksc.org).

To customize keyboard shortcuts in Chrome, find the corresponding link in the Chrome extensions menu or go to chrome://extensions/configureCommands.

The main feature of scihubS is to feed the current webpage url to sci-hub.io. Activating scihubS extension again will open the pure .pdf file in the Chrome built-in pdf viewer.
Another cool feature of scihubS is searching for DOI in the current webpage source code, finding its title using crossref.org and feeding the title to booksc.org as a search query. All that using one shortcut.

Main changes:
* 4.9 — change libgen server.
* 4.8 — improve fetching The Lancet articles.
* 4.6 — improve fetching Cell articles.
* 4.0 — add new popup UI. Improve finding doi on Nature.com pages. Implement downloading pdf from libgen page (via the same shortcut).
* 3.0 - LibGen support added! New actions for keyboard shortcuts available: fetch PDF from LibGen, fetch BibTeX entry from LibGen.
* 2.5 - change sci-hub.io to sci-hub.bz.
* 2.4 - improve working with articles on «https://» sites.
* 2.3 - sci-hub.io instead of sci-hub.org. Improved doi parsing on RSCB PDB pages.
* 2.2 - notifications added.
* 2.1 - getting DOI on ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed pages.
* 2.0 - since libgen servers are down, alternative source of .pdf files is now booksc.org. The crossref.org is used to get the title of the article by its doi.
* 1.9.1 - getting DOI from the meta tag dc.identifier (some nature.com pages)
* 1.9 - «Pure pdf» feature: activating the extension on the sci-hub page will open .pdf with the build-in pdf viewer.
* 1.8.1 - getting DOI from pubs.acs.org.
* 1.8 - bugfix for sciencedirect.com.
* 1.6 - multiple bugfixes; getting DOI from the text on the current webpage improved.
* 1.5 - getting DOI from the meta tag `DC.Identifier` (sciencemag.org, pubs.rsc.org and others); from the meta tag description (pubmed.gov).
* 1.4 - getting DOI from the Web Of Science article page.
* 1.3 - bugfix for getting DOI from onlinelibrary.wiley.com.
* 1.2 - getting DOI from sciencemag.org.
* 1.1 - ability to search for an article by its DOI added based on searching for DOI on the current web page (can be used via Keyboard Shortcuts for Chrome Extensions).
* 1.0 - initial version: submit the current web page URL as a query for sci-hub.org.
